Sunday April 30, 2017 I had the privilege to attend a great benefit concert organized by Kul Prasad ‘Kishna’ Shiwakotiin the beautiful Zunfthaus zur Waag, Zürich. Purpose of the concert was to collect money for Nepalese children who had become orphans as a result of the 2015 Earthquake. With the money the children would be able to attend school, rather than being forced to work.
The performance by Betül Ayaydin (piano), Carolyn Hopkins Marti (Cello) and Simon Hänni (clarinet) was fantastic. The trio performed the ‘Trio for Piano, Clarinet and Cello Opus 38’ by Ludwig van Beethoven, and one of my ‘all time’ favorites: ‘Trio for Piano, Clarinet and Cello Opus 114’ by Johannes Brahms. This was one of the most intensive concerts I ever attended, and I will remember it the rest of my life.
