One of the many reasons I like Thalwil is the Thalwiler Konzerte: a series of concerts organized by the Reformed Church (Reformierte Kirche). An example was the concert of Duo Ailouros, consisting of Maria Pujades Seguí (Voice) and Edoardo Milanello (Piano) on September 5, 2023.

The program was titled ‘Schumann GmbH’ (Schumann Incorporated), and was centered around Clara Wieck, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms.

It was a beautiful concert, deep-romantic and full of Weltschmerz! However, because we as an audience behaved so well, we were treated to a very uplifting encore: ‘On This Island’ (Benjamin Britten).

I really enjoyed the concert and am looking forward to seeing them again soon!
