Toggenburger Höhenweg Etappe 1

I always wanted to walk the Toggenburger Höhenweg. This weekend I did the first stretch! I had to do in reverse order though, instead of from Waldhaus to Starkenbach, I had to do it from Starkenbach to Waldhaus.

The lift from Starkenback to Selunalp is quite special! First of all, it is called a ‘box lift’, a very appropriate title because instead of cabin, you need assume a position between siting en kneeling in a wooden box. Secondly the capacity is very limited: only 5 passengers at the time, and about 4 lifts/hours. I arrived at 9:00, and had to wait until 10:15 before I could board the box.

However the hike was fantastic and the scenery were great. At least the first part, the last 5 km top Wildhaus were a bit boring. Except for the ermine!
